Creative economy refers to industries where the creative element is central to what is being produced, for example, advertising, film and television, broadcasting, publishing, architecture, design, music, visual arts, sports analysis, and performing arts. Data analysis has become essential in understanding consumer behavior, predicting consumption patterns, and deciding which products/services will succeed in the creative economy. From personalized targeting, building sales forecasts, to generating artificial intelligence-powered content, Data Science for Creative Industries prepares students to obtain the skills and knowledge to succeed in the future.

The College requires that all undergraduate students, regardless of major, complete core general education courses in nine distributions. Students of the Data Science program can meet the Quantitative Reasoning distribution requirement through their major courses. As a result, 42 general education credits from the Liberal Arts and Sciences program will be required.
Students are free to choose 6 credits from any college level courses offered by the College.
