Transfer Students


Fei Tian accepts students transferring from other colleges or universities. Please read the following information related to course credits transfers, program requirements, and the application process. If you have any questions, please call the Office of Admissions at 845-256-8170 or email at

Who is considered as a transfer applicant? 

You will be considered a transfer applicant if you satisfy both of the following:

      • You are a student who earned a high school diploma or GED. 

      • You are a student who has attempted or will have attempted 12 or more semester hours of college course work at a regionally accredited college/university before enrolling at Fei Tian. 

Transfer Policies 

Fei Tian College will accept undergraduate work in transfer from the following institutions:

      • Institutions that are regionally accredited

      • International colleges and universities recognized by Fei Tian College. 

The following conditions apply when a student requests credit transfer:

      • The student is full-time matriculated;

      • Credits are equivalent to Fei Tian registered curricula and component courses;

      • Credits do not duplicate, overlap, or regress previous work;

      • Credits are not computed in the grade-point average; and

      • The total number of credits that can be awarded for prior learning does not exceed 35 credits.

The following conditions apply to the transfer of credits from collegiate coursework:

      • Credits must have a grade of C or above for general education courses and B or above for courses pertaining to the student’s area of specialization; 

      • The courses taken are equivalent to courses that are or could be offered at Fei Tian in terms of content and rigor;

      • A maximum of 30 non-liberal arts transfer credits can be applied toward the total minimum requirement for graduation.

How to Apply?

If you are qualified as a transfer student, please submit the following application documents by mail or email or go to

      • Completed and signed application form

      • College transcript

      • High school transcript and SAT/ACT score if you have completed less than 24 college course credits

      • Personal Statement in a one to two-page essay describing the applicant’s academic interest, ability and achievements, and explaining why the applicant wishes to attend FTC-MT

      • At least 2 reference letters; one letter must be from a counselor or a high school teacher

      • Copy of valid passport or proof of status (i.e. permanent residence, citizenship)

      • Non-refundable application fee of US $50 (Check Payable to: Fei Tian College or make a payment HERE);
