1. Programs of Study

FTC Middletown currently offers the following Master’s degree programs:

  • Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Dance
  • Master of Science in Data Science

2. Graduate Admission Requirements

Admission to a Master’s degree program at FTC Middletown requires all of the following:

  • Attainment of a baccalaureate degree in a related field
  • Prior training and/or experience in the performance or teaching of the art form
  • Ability and desire to collaborate with other artists and colleagues
  • High degree of artistic achievement
  • Good character, as evidenced through recommendation(s)

However, these requirements serve merely as a threshold to admission. The admission decision is based on a comprehensive evaluation of the application package and audition.

1. Application Process

Step 1: Prepare the Application Documents

To apply for graduate study, please submit the following application documents by mail or email:

      • Completed and signed Graduate Student Application Form
      • College transcript 
      • Personal Statement in a one to two-page essay describing:

        • Your academic interest, ability and achievements
        • Why you wish to attend FTCM 
      • At least 2 reference letters from your professors
      • Copy of valid passport or proof of status (i.e. permanent residence, citizenship) 
      • A non-refundable application fee of $50.00

All applicants, except those in the categories below, must present proof of English language proficiency:

  • Applicants whose primary language is English and who have graduated from a high school that uses English as the language of instruction.
  • Applicants who have earned at least three-semester credits of freshman English composition at colleges or
    universities accredited by U.S. Department of Education recognized accrediting agencies with a GPA of at least 2.5 (on a scale of 4.0).
  • Applicants who have studied for at least three years in a high school or college that uses English as the language of instruction.
  • English proficiency is preferably demonstrated through an official score on the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), Code #C357. It may also be proven through performance on other tests and exams such as IELTS, SAT (Evidence-based Reading and Writing section), ACT, or a combination of LEXILE (reading) and ACCUPLACER (writing).
